The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed strong condemnation over reports of alleged vote buying and inducement by some aspirants during the party’s primaries in the Ayawaso East constituency today.
In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC described the alleged actions as “an affront to the values and principles of the party and the reset agenda the party is championing.”
The party has announced the immediate launch of a full-scale investigation into the matter and promised swift action against any candidate found guilty.
According to the statement, future incidents of this nature could attract more severe sanctions, including the possible cancellation of elections.
“The NDC vehemently condemns these actions in no uncertain terms,” the statement added, emphasizing the party’s commitment to free and fair primaries.
