The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has met with leaders of a group representing unemployed graduates with disabilities to discuss employment challenges.

The meeting, led by Mr. Gilbert Agyare, highlighted the persistent unemployment situation among graduates with disabilities, with calls for deliberate recruitment mechanisms and implementation of the 5% public sector employment quota.

The Minister assured the delegation of government commitment to advancing inclusive employment policies, promising collaboration with relevant institutions to strengthen data systems and support job placement efforts.

Dr. Lartey emphasized the importance of coordinated engagement among disability groups and encouraged the provision of detailed data to facilitate targeted interventions.

“I want to assure you that you will not be left behind. Government is committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities are meaningfully included in employment opportunities and national development efforts,” she said.
