President John Dramani Mahama has called an emergency cabinet session to deliberate on the growing crisis in Ghana’s cocoa sector.
The move follows mounting public outcry from cocoa farmers nationwide over delayed arrears and other pressing challenges affecting the industry.
The announcement was made by the Minister for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
In his notice, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu indicated that President Mahama will chair the emergency meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The session is expected to focus on resolving outstanding issues and restoring confidence among cocoa farmers, who form the backbone of Ghana’s agricultural economy.
“President Mahama has called an emergency cabinet session for tomorrow, Wednesday, 11th February, 2026, to address all issues affecting the Cocoa sector,” he announced.
