The Ministry of Health (MoH) has commended the coordinated response of the Ghana Police Service, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and other key stakeholders, especially the whistle‑blower, following the recent baby‑theft incident at the Mamprobi Polyclinic.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has directed the Director‑General of the Ghana Health Service to enforce strict day‑and‑night security measures immediately across all health facilities nationwide.
According to the statement, Administrators have been instructed to strengthen internal security protocols urgently.
The Minister emphasised the Government’s earlier directive requiring all health facilities nationwide to install and maintain fully functional CCTV surveillance systems to enhance security.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding patients and ensuring accountability, and urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
