The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bongo Assembly in the Upper East Region, Mr. Joseph Abaa Akaseke, has reportedly passed away.
According to reports, the former government appointee died after battling a short illness.
Mr. Akaseke is said to have passed on Sunday evening, February 22, 2026, while on admission at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.
Although there has not yet been an official communiqué confirming his death, Graphic Online reports that the Bongo Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Tahiru Aberinga, has confirmed the news.
