Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has signed a US$20 million grant agreement with Japan.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it noted that the grant facility is to improve health delivery in selected health facilities in the Northern province.
“Ghana and Japan today signed a US$20 million grant facility to improve health delivery in selected hospitals in the Northern Region,” the statement disclosed.
The exchange of notes was conducted between Mr. Ablakwa and H.E. Hiroshi Yoshimoto, the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Mr. Ablakwa emphasized the commitment of the Mahama Administration to providing access to quality and affordable health services as a fundamental goal.
Ghana and Japan reiterated their dedication to meaningful diplomatic cooperation.
