Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Kwabena Boateng, has condemned an unlawful storming and closure of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office in Ejisu by some NDC youth on Monday, 16th March, 2026.
The MP demanded the removal of the newly appointed NHIA Municipal Director, calling the appointment a disregard for the law and order and a harm to public services and citizens relying on healthcare support.
In his statement, Mr. Boateng emphasized that the NHIA plays a critical role in ensuring access to healthcare and that the incident is causing hardship for families, the elderly, pregnant women, and vulnerable citizens who depend on the scheme.
He asserted that political frustration does not justify lawlessness and that such acts of intimidation weaken public confidence and community stability.
The MP called on NDC leadership to rein in supporters and enforce discipline among party members.
He also urged the Ghana Police Service to investigate the incident swiftly, apply the law without fear or favour, and restore order with accountability.
Mr. Boateng reaffirmed his commitment to protecting public institutions and respecting the rule of law for the peaceful development of Ejisu constituency, stating that disorder will not hinder progress in the area.
