Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has announced that the government will soon launch its flagship Women’s Development Bank.
According to her, the bank is aimed at improving women’s access to financial support and business opportunities.
During a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of Anlo, Togbui Sri III, ahead of the Norvikporhbe Za Festival, she explained that significant groundwork has been completed for the establishment of the bank.
Madam Opoku-Agyemang added that the government intentionally took time to properly design the initiative because of its importance.
“I want to assure you that we’ve made a lot of progress in establishing the Women’s Development Bank and that very very soon you will hear from us.
“We really needed to take our time because this is something that is very very important, therefore rushing it didn’t help us,” she stated.
She further noted that the careful preparation will ensure the bank is able to effectively respond to the financial and business needs of women across the country.
