The police have arrested the general overseer of Elohim International Ministry, Prophet William Gyimah, for an alleged death threats against Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang in a viral video.
In a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service, William Gyimah, a 49-year-old suspect was apprehended on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, during a targeted operation at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The arrest stemmed from proactive monitoring by the Cybercrime and Emerging Threats (CVET) Unit, which intercepted a high-priority video circulating on TikTok and other social media platforms.
The police noted that the suspect has been handed over to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation.
The police administration further cautioned the public and media against using platforms to disseminate content that threatens state peace and security, committing to update the public as investigations continue.
