Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has assured residents of the Greater Accra Metropolis of improved water supply during the Christmas and New Year festivities, despite ongoing challenges in some communities.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, December 24, the GWL acknowledged the difficulties faced by consumers but emphasized that management is actively working to resolve them.
It disclosed that technical teams and logistics have been deployed nationwide to intensify maintenance works at treatment plants, with the aim of stabilizing production and enhancing distribution.
“Barring unforeseen technical challenges, consumers should continue to experience gradual improvements in water flow in affected areas,” the notice noted.
With demand expected to rise during the festive season and the dry period, GWL announced measures to ensure equitable distribution of treated water across all communities.
It also encouraged customers to follow updates on the Water Demand Management Programme (WDMP), which provides supply schedules to promote fairness in distribution.
The company further admonished responsible water usage, advising households to fix leakages, limit non-essential consumption, store water safely, and promptly report burst pipes or illegal connections.
