Banned Unity FC President, Richmond Osei, has called the bluff of the Ghana Football Association’s Ethics Committee.
This comes after the committee slapped a ban and fine on him for breaching Article 20 of the GFA Code of Ethics (Offering and Accepting gifts or other benefits) and Article 18 (Duty to Cooperate) of the GFA Code of Ethics (2019).
In response to his ban from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of five months, the under-fire club executive in an exclusive interview on Angel 102.9 FM’s Floodlight Sports, threatened to curse the FA.
“I will curse the GFA and Ethics Committee for their ban. I will come to Accra and call on the gods to deal with anyone at the FA’s headquarters who has paid or received bribe before,” he told host, Saddick Adams.
He questioned: “What at all do I gain from football to pay the FA 5,000 cedis? My players can put that money to good use. Even if the GFA bans me for ten years, I don’t care. I am not scared of anything because, I haven’t done anything wrong”.
Meanwhile, the Ethics Committee found Daniel Kwame Nsiah, the Referee and District Technical Instructor, guilty of having breached Article 25 of the GFA Code of Ethics (Abuse of position) of the GFA Code of Ethics (2019).
The Committee commenced investigations into Mr. Daniel Kwame Nsiah’s conduct after receiving GFA’s Integrity Report which accused Mr. Nsiah of arranging a meeting between the President of Unity FC Richmond Osei and Referees for the Club’s 2019/20 Division One League match against Wa Suntaa.
The EC has however decided to waive the two-year ban that should have been imposed on Daniel Kwame Nsiah, for his cooperation with the Committee throughout the investigations.
