A driver of a trailer carrying dozens of cement has been reported dead after he crashed into a broken down truck in the middle of the road.
Further reports indicate the driver’s mate and the driver of the broken down truck are in critical condition.
The accident occurred this morning at Gomoa Assin on the Winneba to Cape Coast Highway.
The long trailer, with registration number GM 3587- 21, loaded fully with cement from Cape Coast heading towards Accra hit the back of a broken down truck filled with scraps parked in the middle of the highway.
Report says, the Gomoa Apam Fire Command quickly went to the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital while the deceased driver was conveyed to the Winneba Trauma and specialize Hospital mortuary for preservation.
Speaking in an interview with Angel News’ Opanyin Darko, the Apam Fire Commander, DO1 Adolf Ankomah Nuamah explained that driver of the broken down truck had no reflector triangle to warn other road users thus, the accident.
He therefore advised drivers to be vigilant and do the needful to avoid road crashes.
