The agent of former Accra Hearts of Oak, Benjamin Afutu, Daniel Tackie, has disclosed that his clients parted ways with Egyptian club Eastern Company FC following the club’s inability to fulfill the player’s financial obligations.
According to Mr. Tackie, the Egyptian club exhibited unprofessionalism in line with their duty by not paying its client hence their decision to mutually terminate the contract.
Benjamin Afutu joined Eastern Company FC from Accra Hearts of Oak at the end of the 2020/21 season. He signed a four-year contract as a free agent.
Nevertheless, after less than a year, the combative midfielder terminated his contract and is currently back in Ghana with claims that he failed to leave up to expectations.
Meanwhile, his agent, Daniel Tackie, has downplayed the assertion and indicated that Benjamin Afutu, although ended his stay with the North African side, he was the club’s best player.
“Afutu was Eastern Company’s best player but the club is unprofessional, they weren’t paying Afutu, that’s why the player is back to Ghana,” he told Happy FM.
On a possible reunion with Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Tackie mentions that “we will consider Hearts of Oak if they approach my player officially.”
