Leadership of ‘The Word in Action Church’ say they are saddened after a three-storey church building situated at Bortianor near the Bortianor Polyclinic in the Greater Accra Region collapsed on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

After unconfirmed reports of the incident went viral on social media the church in a statement officially confirmed the unfortunate incident and expressed its displeasure.

In a statement the church said, “We at Word in Action Church are deeply saddened by the recent incident that occurred at our church building” and added that their hearts go out to “all those who have been affected by this unfortunate event.”

“We are working closely with local authorities and emergency services to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to address the situation and provide the necessary support to those in need,” the church assured.

Personnel of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) visited the scene searching through the wreckage to save lives.

The church also appreciated the effort from the quick response of the emergency responders and the community members who showed their support during the difficult period.
