As part of a peace-building mission for a united Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has embarked on a visit to Bawku and Nalerigu today, Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Mr. Mahama’s visit forms part of his commitment to resolving the longstanding conflicts in these areas, which have significant implications for national security.
A communique from the presidency, signed by Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, stated:
“The President is determined to resolve the decades-old conflict in Bawku and will use the visit to engage the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue to achieve lasting peace.”
According to the communiqué, the President is expected to return to Accra later today after completing his engagements in the two areas.
