Delegates in the Kwadaso Constituency, Ashanti Region have refused to cast their ballots in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer election, demanding a transportation “top-up” from presidential aspirants before proceeding with the voting process.
The incident occurred during the NPP primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Delegates allege they are seeking additional incentives from the aspirants as a condition for participating in the election.
The Electoral Commission’s voting booths, marked with the Ghanaian flag and “VOTE” signs, were set up at the polling centre, but the process has been stalled due to the delegates’ demands.
