The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on their smooth presidential primary, from which Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as flagbearer for the 2028 election.
In a statement signed by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, on Saturday, February 1, 2026, the party commended the Ghana Police Service (GPS) for its efficient management of the entire electoral process.
The NDC also welcomed the collaboration of the NPP and other political parties in the national effort to strengthen Ghana’s democracy.
The NDC noted the reconciliatory statements made by unsuccessful NPP candidates and expressed hope that they will act on their words of unity.
