The Amasaman High Court is expected to determine the fate of convicted evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa or Sika Gari, today, Thursday, February 5, 2026, after she has spent nearly eight months in prison custody.
Agradaa was convicted and sentenced on Thursday, July 3, 2025, by a Circuit Court presided over by Justice Evelyn Asamoah.
The court found her guilty on two counts of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences after a full trial that lasted close to three years.
She was handed a 15-year prison sentence along with a fine, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently.
Following her conviction, her legal team filed an application for bail pending appeal, but the request was refused, leading to her continued incarceration.
Agradaa subsequently filed an appeal, arguing that the trial court erred by failing to take into account the number of days she had already spent in custody.
Her lawyers also contend that she was not given adequate time and facilities to properly conduct her defence and that the sentence imposed was excessive and harsh.
Based on these grounds, the defence is urging the High Court to quash the decision of the trial court.
