Mohammed Ahmed, popularly known as Baba Jamal, has strongly denied allegations of vote buying and electoral malpractice linked to the recent parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
In a release issued on Sunday, February 8, 2026, NDC Ayawaso East parliamentary candidate Baba Jamal Mohammed said he had taken note of a communiqué recalling him from his diplomatic role over alleged vote buying during the recent primaries.
He noted that the statement also referenced an earlier communication by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, which condemned the allegations and called for a full investigation into the matter.

Baba Jamal categorically rejected the claims, stating that he has not engaged in any form of vote buying or election malpractice.
“I wish to state categorically that I, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed have not engaged in any vote buying or election malpractices and | pledge to avail myself to assist the party i n its investigation into the subject matter anytime,” he noted.
He used the opportunity to thank the President for what he described as the honour done him and the chance to serve Ghana as High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Baba Jamal also expressed gratitude to the NDC in Ayawaso East constituency for the confidence reposed in him to lead the party into the upcoming by-election scheduled for March 3, 2026.
