A member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Kwame Jantuah Esq., has urged the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COCOBOD, Randy Abbey, to concentrate on resolving the board’s challenges rather than engaging in politics.
He emphasised the critical role cocoa farmers play in the economy, recognising their longstanding contributions to the country. Mr. Jantuah stressed that these farmers are vital to Ghana’s economic stability and prosperity.
Mr. Jantuah called on Randy Abbey to collaborate with the Board Chairman to tackle the pressing issues facing COCOBOD.
“My good friend Randy should tackle these problems; the President appointed him because he believed he had the capability to lead COCOBOD,” he advised.
He also pointed out that Ghana’s unique soil produces superior cocoa crops, yet the nation fails to capitalise on these resources to add value to its products. This oversight limits Ghana’s export potential and revenue generation.
“It’s high time we don’t treat cocoa farmers the way we are treating them because they have sustained this country for a long time. We should be able to solve these problems once and for all,” he concluded.
