The prime suspect, Richard Appiah, convicted of murdering two children in Abesim in the Bono Region, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a High Court in Accra.
His sentencing followed a unanimous guilty verdict delivered by a seven-member jury on two counts of murder.
With this decision, the Court on Tuesday, February 2026, handed the suspect also a footballer a lifetime jail term.
Appiah, who was 28 years old at the time of the crime, had been standing trial since 2022 before Justice Ruby Aryeetey.
The victims, aged 12 and 15, were reported to have been killed in 2021.
