The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed reports suggesting that it has authorized the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to extend its services to Ghanaian drivers living abroad.
The Ministry described the viral reports as false, stressing that it has neither issued directives to Ghana’s diplomatic missions nor granted approval to any entity for such an arrangement.
“The Ministry is not aware of any new government policy to that effect,” the statement emphasized, adding that there is no record pointing to such a policy direction.
It further clarified that there has been no formal engagement, no new policy brought to its attention, and no financial commitment to support the claim.
The Ministry stated that it will ensure a transparency and financial prudence in public service delivery.
