President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu as High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This appointment was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in a social media post on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
“Congratulations, Baba Sadiq on your well-deserved appointment by President Mahama as High Commissioner designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I have no doubt you will hold aloft Ghana’s flag and make the youth of our continent proud,” the Minister highlighted.
The appointment underscores efforts to strengthen diplomatic representation, enhance bilateral relations, and protect the interests of citizens.
The appointment comes in after President Mahama ordered the immediate recall of the previous High Commissioner, Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed (Baba Jamal), following allegations of voter buying during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
