President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Arusha, Tanzania, ahead of the opening of the Judicial Year of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
The arrival was marked by a warm welcome mat the Kilimanjaro International Airport by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo
He was also welcomed by top officials including Ghana’s High Commissioner to Kenya, with additional responsibility to Tanzania, H.E. Paul Evans Aidoo and Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei, a Supreme Court judge who is also a judge of the African Court.
The ceremony, themed “20 Years of Service in Protecting Human and Peoples’ Rights in Africa,” which will officially launch the commemoration of the Court’s 20th anniversary.
President Mahama will meet the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, on Monday, March 2, 2026 morning before the proceedings at the Court with his keynote address scheduled at 9.15am (Ghana Time).
The President was accompanied by Legal Counsel, Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew and Presidential Advisor and Special Aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari.
