Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has held an engagement with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture aimed at addressing food security challenges.
The Vice President highlighted the relevance of agriculture, encouraging stakeholders in the agricultural sector to continue working diligently to ensure sustainable food security for the nation.

“Food, we know, is the first basic necessity of life. It is food before clothing and shelter,” the Vice President mentioned.
She emphasized that collaborating with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will drive innovation, improve productivity, and support sustainable agricultural development.
Prof. Opoku-Agyeman expressed satisfaction with the Ministry’s interventions aimed at supporting women in agriculture, commending women farmers for taking advantage of opportunities in the agricultural sector.
She also urged churches, security agencies, and individuals to venture into the Institutional Farming initiative under the Feed Ghana Programme as an avenue to reduce the country’s food imports.
