The Member of Parliament for Tano South, Charles Asiedu, has said that President John Dramani Mahama-led leadership remains focused on delivering for Ghanaians despite attempts by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to distract him.
According to Mr. Asiedu, the government has put in place adequate plans within the energy sector to ensure that any external economic shocks are absorbed without plunging citizens into hardship.
That said, he opined that the President will not allow himself to be swayed by the opposition’s criticisms and political maneuvering, stressing that Mahama’s governance style is anchored on resilience and foresight.
“If the NPP knew how to manage the country properly, they would have done so instead of creating a mess. Mahama has rolled out measures to administer the country, and there is no way he will succumb to the commentaries, lamentations, and distractions of the opposition,” he said in light of the ongoing US-Iran and Israel war.
Further touching on the energy sector, Mr. Asiedu assured that Ghana’s stability is secured through deliberate planning and collaboration with industry players to stabilize fuel and power supply.
“Ghana will not collapse or fall into a mess, as the NPP hopes and prays, because of the arrangements and plans put in place by the Energy Minister and industry players regarding fuel and power. These measures will absorb any challenges so that Ghanaian citizens are not subjected to hardship,” he added on Angel TV, on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Mr. Asiedu further urged citizens to rally behind the President, noting that external geopolitical tensions should not be exploited for partisan gain.
“Ghanaians should place their trust in President John Mahama’s leadership amid the external fears of the ongoing US-Iran and Israel war, from which the NPP seeks to score political points. Mahama will not administer governance that plunges citizens into hardship, unlike the NPP administration, which was full of taxes and mismanagement,” the MP asserted.
Mr. Asiedu reiterated President Mahama’s administration’s commitment to protecting the welfare of Ghanaians, regardless of external pressures or opposition distractions.
