A devastating incident occurred at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Sunday when an Air Canada Express regional jet collided with a fire truck while landing, resulting in the deaths of the pilot and co-pilot.
The Air Canada Express CRJ-900 plane, operated by Jazz Aviation, was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members from Montreal.

The collision, which happened at around 11:40 p.m., caused significant damage to the front of the aircraft and injured dozens of people, with reports indicating that 41 passengers and crew were taken to hospital.
Two firefighters in the truck were also injured, with broken limbs but stable.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop, closing the airport to incoming flights, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the incident.
