The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has urged media organisations and practitioners across the country to give publicity and support to the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2026, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel (The Dome) in Accra.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 30, and signed by its President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, the GJA announced its collaboration with the Office of the Ga Mantse in the organisation of the awards, an initiative of His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse.
According to the Association, the awards, which is founded on the pillars of African heritage, spirituality and wellness, seeks to celebrate individuals and institutions whose contributions have made meaningful impact on society, while promoting cultural identity, unity and collective wellbeing.
The GJA said it considers the initiative an important platform for celebrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, recognising positive contributions to society and promoting values that strengthen social cohesion and national development.
“We commend His Royal Majesty, the Ga Mantse, for championing this initiative and reaffirm the Association’s commitment to supporting efforts that preserve and project Ghanaian and African heritage,” the statement said.
It added that the media has a critical role in promoting initiatives that celebrate excellence, preserve cultural identity and foster unity and collective wellbeing.
“We particularly encourage media organisations and practitioners across the country to give the event the needed publicity, coverage and support to ensure its success,” the GJA stated.
The Association expressed confidence that the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 will provide an uplifting and memorable occasion for celebrating outstanding contributions to society and advancing appreciation of African heritage, spirituality and wellness.
The GJA said it looks forward to a successful event and called on all stakeholders to support the initiative.
