The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Wing has announced plans to protest against the Ghana Police Service over what it describes as ‘police harassment’.
The planned protest, they said, will soon hit the streets, though the date and venue remain unannounced.
According to the Youth Wing, their planned action stems from the government’s bias against members of the opposition party.
“The Ghana Police Service has demonstrated immeasurable bias against the NPP since the inception of this administration.
“We can count numerous unwarranted arrests: Gordon Asare Bediako, chairman Wontumi, Agyenkwa Nana, Sir Obama, and Fante Comedy and other TikTokers, and now chairman Abronye, for no criminal offences but harsh critique of this government.”
This was confirmed by the National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Salam Mustapha, in a statement on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
The statement explained that the police have refused to arrest similar acts from the NDC.
“We therefore find the actions of the police service extremely bias and discriminatory. Hence Aluta! We have a message for the Ghana Police Service, and we will march in grand style to the police headquarters to give them the message,” Mr. Salam noted.
