President John Dramani Mahama has ordered an immediate forensic investigation into the 13th All African Games hosted in Ghana.
Sources to the Presidency told Amgelonline.com.gh that Mr. Mahama’s directive follows the submission of a report by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
By executive powers, he has instructed the Auditor-General (AG) to commence investigations into the award of “contracts, procurement, infrastructure” and other significant funding related to the successful hosting of the event.
Mr. Mahama has further urged the AG to fast-track its work to meet a stipulated deadline in the second week of December 2025.
“The President expects a report in the second week of December 2025,” a deep-throat source revealed.
The 13th African Games, also known as Accra 2023, were hosted in Accra, Ghana, from 8–23 March 2024.
The games were initially scheduled for August 2023; however, delays in completing facilities and other factors including marketing revenue led to a postponement until March 2024.
