President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strong warning to criminals across the country, stating that the government will not surrender any street, community, or public space to people who threaten the peace and safety of citizens.
He said his government will not tolerate armed robbery, organized crime, illegal arms trafficking, or gang activities that tend to jeopardize the country.
“Let me state clearly our dear country Ghana will not surrender a single street, a community, or any public space to criminals today, tomorrow, or forever,” Mr. Mahama said.
He was speaking at the Police Headquarters on Thursday, December 4, 2025, during the presentation of 40 armored vehicles to the Ghana Police Administration.
Mr. Mahama assured Ghanaians that the state security agencies are prepared to deal with such threats.
“The Ghanaian state is ready, the Ghana Police Service is ready, the laws of this republic will deal decisively with anyone who endangers the safety of our people,” President Mahama added.
Speaking further, he noted that security is not just about the absence of crime, but about the presence of justice, accountability, and professionalism, adding that the government is deepening reforms to ensure transparency, discipline, and respect for human rights.
