The Minerals Commission, in collaboration with relevant agencies including the police and regulatory bodies, has commenced investigations to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the Adelekezu clashes.
The violent clashes, which occurred last weekend between residents of Adelekezu and Jas Mining Company, led to the death of a boy and the destruction of properties worth millions of cedis.
In a press statement from the Minerals Commission on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, it unequivocally condemned the incident and described it as unacceptable under any circumstances.
To this end, the Commission announced that it has commenced full investigations into the matter with the assistance of other security agencies.
“The Mineral Commission in collaboration with relevant agencies, including police and other regulatory bodies, has commenced investigations to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the clashes,” the statement said.
The Mineral Commission urges all parties to reflect on their responsibilities to secure lives through lawful means, without violence.
