The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that arrangements for the promotion of qualified staff to the ranks of Director II and Director I have been finalized.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit, GES said the Committee responsible for the process comprise representatives from the Ghana Education Service, the Public Services Commission, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
According to the Service, the committee has already submitted its final report to Management.
The statement znoted that extensive consultations were undertaken with all relevant stakeholders, with significant reviews and inputs from the Teacher Unions.
GES indicated that the first call for applications and the aptitude test for promotion to the ranks of Director II and Director I will be announced by the end of the first quarter of this year.
Management further stated that promotions to these ranks will no longer depend on the availability of limited office vacancies, a shift described as being in line with the commitment made by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to teachers.
The statement, signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, assured that further details and guidelines will be communicated in due course through official GES channels only.
