Kumasi-based Content Creator, Isaac Boafo (45 years), popularly known as ‘Duabo King,’ has been arrested following the publication of false news in a viral video on TikTok.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command, in a statement issued Sunday, March 1, 2026, indicated that the suspect sought to cause fear and panic by alleging that four police officers stationed at the Central Police Station in Kumasi had engaged in inappropriate conduct with commercial sex workers during night patrol duties at Asafo Kumasi.
According to the Police, Isaac Boafo admitted the offence during interrogations, explaining that the video was intended to attract views and online engagement
“He is a social media content creator who made the allegations solely to attract views and online engagement,” the Police revealed.
The Police Service noted that the suspect acknowledged making comments concerning President John Mahama for content creation and admitted that he could not defend those statements.
The suspect has been formally charged and detained to assist further investigations.
The police further cautioned the public against the publication and circulation of false information, particularly on social media, as such acts have the potential to cause unnecessary fear, panic and reputational damage.
The police further stressed that the law will deal with any person found in such conduct.
