The head coach of Ghana Premier League side Bibiani Gold Stars, Petros Koukouras, has hinted at the sorry state of Debibi United’s home venue, Presby Park, which is used for hosting league matches.
According to the tactician, the standard of the pitch warrants one that is designated for cassava plantation rather than football-related activities.
His comments come in the wake of Gold Stars’ 1-0 defeat to Debibi United at the venue in their Matchweek 7 fixture of the Ghana Premier League last weekend.
Speaking ahead of his side’s next home fixture against Heart of Lions, Koukouras further questioned the suitability of Debibi Park, claiming the surface was not suitable for a football match.
“We cannot discuss football. I don’t think this is a pitch designated for football. Maybe it is designated for cassava plantation. I don’t have anything else to say,” he said.
Gold Stars will host Heart of Lions at DUN’s Park, hoping to return to winning ways.
