The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it is working to reopen Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) to continuing students after months of temporary closure.
The GES said preparations were far advanced for continuing students to return to school sometime next week.
The institution has been closed to continuing students since August 5, 2026, following disturbances on campus.
Meanwhile, first-year students have been in school since they reported on September 18, 2026,
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 22, the GES noted that management continues preparations to facilitate the return of the continuing students.
The statement assured the public that further updates would be communicated when necessary.
