The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) generated foreign exchange totaling US$1.011 billion from its Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) gold trade operations in October 2026.
In an announcement issued by its Finance and Trade Directorate on November 2, 2026, GoldBod said the entire amount was sold to authorized commercial banks on the GoldBod GoFX platform to support stability in the foreign exchange market.
The Board projects to generate US$1.2 billion in November 2026, out of which US$800 million will be made available to commercial banks to support FX market stability.
All FX sales, according to GoldBod, will be conducted on the GoFX platform in line with the approved FX Sales and Intermediation Framework to ensure transparency, fairness and regulatory compliance.
The operations are in accordance with the Board’s mandate under Section 2(b) of Act 1140.
GoldBod reaffirmed its commitment to its statutory mandate to generate foreign exchange for the country and to support foreign reserve accumulation by the Bank of Ghana in accordance with the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Policy (GANRAP).
