Dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, widely known as Shatta Wale, has been freed from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after meeting revised bail conditions.
According to his lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, the original bail sum of GH₵10 million was reduced to GH₵5 million, with two sureties required.
“As part of the bail conditions, he must report to EOCO three times each week,” Mr. Boyuo stated.
His release comes a day after he was detained by the office in connection with ongoing legal proceedings over the acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Supporters who had thronged the EOCO premises since morning to demand his release can now heave a sigh of relief. However, to their surprise, he left without saying a word to them, leaving them angry and frustrated.
