Hundreds of people from across the Greater Accra Region, particularly from Lapaz and its environs, have gathered at the forecourt of the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) at Flat Top for the much-anticipated free health screening exercise.
The screening, which is part of ABN’s Pink October initiative, is currently underway at Angel Haus with a clear message: Early Detection Saves Lives.

As early as 7am today, residents started trooping in to take advantage of the exercise. Although the focus is on breast cancer awareness, both women and men have turned up for the screening. Medical practitioners are on the ground, offering professional breast examination, general health screening, education on self-examination, and counselling on breast cancer prevention and early detection.

The exercise forms part of ABN’s annual commitment to public health as Ghana marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Ghana, but health experts say early detection drastically improves treatment outcomes.

The free screening is open to all, regardless of age or gender. Management of Angel Broadcasting Network is therefore inviting all residents in Lapaz, Achimota, Tabora, Tesano, and surrounding communities to join the exercise at the forecourt of Angel Haus.
