The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened expressions of interest for members seeking to contest on the party’s ticket in the 2028 parliamentary elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and signed by its Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the party said interested members are expected to declare their intentions through an online application process.
According to the statement, the application window will open on Sunday, November 1, and close on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, through the party’s website, ppc.nppghana.org.
The party has also announced a non-refundable application fee of GH¢5,000 for each prospective parliamentary candidate.
It said all applicants will undergo a vetting and screening exercise to determine their eligibility to contest on the party’s ticket.
The NPP further disclosed that capacity-building workshops will be organised in December 2026 for prospective candidates across the Northern, Middle and Southern zones.
The statement emphasised that sitting NPP Members of Parliament are not exempted from the guidelines, which apply to all members seeking to represent the party in the 2028 elections.
It also cautioned prospective candidates against engaging in campaign activities following their declaration of interest, stressing that the party’s earlier directive prohibiting campaigning remains in force until official clearance is given.
The party warned that any breach of the directive would attract sanctions in accordance with its constitution and regulations.
The NPP said the process is intended to ensure fairness, transparency and equal opportunities for all contestants as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
