Head Coach of Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo, has expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance in their win against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to the former Ghanaian International, his side displayed a very good performance despite their opponents matching them boot for boot in the first half.
The Stars started their qualifying campaign on a brighter note recording a 3-0 scoreline against the Madagascans at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
Goals from Mohammed Kudus, Felix Afena-Gyan, and Osman Bukari were enough for the Black Stars to return to winning ways having gone six months without winning a single match.
Speaking to the media at the post-match conference, Coach Otto Addo, admitted the Madagascan goalkeeper was up to the task to deny his side some goal-scoring opportunities but acknowledged being content with the results.
“Good goalkeeper, I didn’t count the number of shots on goal but he had some good saves. We created chances so I’m happy”
“But this is football, not all shots will go in. In all, I was satisfied, even though it was 0-0, there was not much I could say. They just had to continue playing that way” he said at the presser.
The Central African Republic will host Ghana in Luanda Angola on Sunday, June 5, 2022, since they don’t have the approval of FIFA to host any international matches in the country.
Ghana now tops the Group E table with 3 points plus 3 goals followed by Angola who also has 3 points whiles Madagascar and the Central African Republic have no point.
