Fifty-two students from public and private schools, including those with visual and hearing impairments, were recognized for their outstanding performance in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Nestlé Ghana Ltd., in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating excellence in Ghana through the President’s Independence Day Awards.

As part of their award package, each student received a laptop, Nestlé souvenirs, a one-year supply of Nestlé products, a plaque, and a signed certificate from the President of Ghana.

The students also participated in a series of exciting activities before the event, including a tour of the Nestlé factory in Tema, as well as visits to Jubilee House, the Ministry of Education, and the University of Ghana.

The awards ceremony, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, was attended by Ministers of State, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Heads of Departments and Agencies, and Traditional Leaders.

The President’s Independence Day Award, held as part of Ghana’s independence celebrations, embraced the theme of this year’s 68th Independence Day: “Reflect, Review, and Reset.”

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, congratulated the award recipients and encouraged them to continue striving for success and excellence.

She also recognized the contributions of parents, guardians, teachers, and everyone who played a role in the success of the award winners.

Mr. Georgios Badaro, Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana Ltd., reaffirmed the company’s commitment to driving positive change and supporting the prosperity of individuals and communities. He emphasized that education is a fundamental pillar of development and that Nestlé strongly believes in recognizing and celebrating students’ achievements.

Established in 1993, the President’s Independence Day Awards has consistently recognized academic excellence and has become an integral part of Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations.

Nestlé Ghana Ltd. has been associated with the awards for more than three decades.

Nestlé, the “Good Food, Good Life” company, began operations in Ghana in 1957. Today, Nestlé Ghana Ltd. manufactures and markets well-known household brands, including IDEAL Milk®, MILO®, CARNATION®, CHOCOLIM®, MILO® Energy Cubes, CERELAC®, and NESCAFÉ® 3-in-1, at its factory in Tema for both local sales and export.
