The Resident Pastor of Action Worship Centre, Reverend Sammy Agyapong, has urged Ghanaians to prioritize regular medical check-ups to prevent avoidable deaths.
Speaking to journalists during a one-day community health fair, as part of activities marking the church’s 7th anniversary, Rev. Agyapong said many lives are lost due to negligence and failure to undergo routine screening.
“Many people have lost their lives simply due to negligence and a lack of proper check-ups — situations that could have easily been prevented,” he said.
He encouraged Ghanaians to adopt proper health lifestyles and regularly check vital indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels, noting that many people live with underlying conditions without knowing.
Citing scripture, he said: “I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,” stressing that individuals have a responsibility to take care of their bodies.
Rev. Agyapong further urged the public to know their health status and seek proper medical attention to avoid complications.
On his part, Reverend Justice Sagoe said the health screening exercise forms part of the church’s commitment to giving back to society, noting that the church’s mission goes beyond preaching the gospel to include safeguarding the physical well-being of members and the community.
