The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that staff who are yet to receive their 2025 promotion arrears will be paid on November 16, 2026.
In a statement released on Tuesday, October 27, the Service said it was working with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to ensure that all outstanding arrears are paid by the scheduled date.
According to GES, the delay was due to the closure of the Controller and Accountant-General’s payment system for the processing of October salaries before the necessary inputs could be made.

The Service said the payment system would be reopened on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, to allow the required inputs to be made to facilitate payment to affected staff.
GES also assured staff that discrepancies identified in the payment of promotion arrears on October 16, 2026, would be corrected.
Management expressed regret over the delay and the inconvenience caused, urging Regional Directors to inform all affected staff about the latest development.
