Central University has launched a new digital platform dubbed “The Eagle” – a one-stop hub for counselling, careers and employability services for students, staff and alumni.
The launch took place on Monday, October 27, 2026, at the Christ Temple Campus, Abossey Okai, as part of the university’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.
The platform is designed to digitize all physical student support services to make access easier and enhance the student experience. It is accessible via both web and mobile, with a mobile application that can be saved to phone home screens on both Android and iOS devices.
Speaking at the launch, the Director of Planning, Stability and Special Projects at Central University, Emil Afenyo, explained that the platform integrates several critical services including spiritual growth, counselling, career development and alumni engagement.

According to him, students can access a daily devotional calendar, Bible study plans and a private prayer journal. He emphasized that the feature is personal and secure, noting that having God in one’s life as a student is important for focus and growth.
Users can also request counselling sessions online covering academic, spiritual and other life challenges without having to queue at offices.

On career and employability, Mr. Afenyo said The Eagle provides tools for CV writing, interview preparation, psychometric tests to help students understand their personality and suitable career paths, as well as access to internship opportunities and job vacancies posted through partnerships with employers.
He stated that internships are key to future employment, explaining that when students go out for internships and do a good job, they are remembered, adding that many directors prefer to hire someone who has already worked in their office.

Mr. Afenyo further disclosed that the platform features a strict verification system to protect user data and prevent impersonation. Once verified, alumni can request interns, register as mentors, and give back to the university community with their time and expertise.
He appealed to alumni to return and be part of the platform, urging them to tell friends to come and register to request for interns or to become mentors and also to give back to show they care, not just with money but with their time. He added that staff will also benefit from the same services, including counselling.

The university demonstrated how to install The Eagle by scanning a QR code, explaining that while the website is mobile-friendly, the app version offers more features and easier access.

The launch marks a major step in Central University’s drive to digitize student support under its Faith, Integrity and Excellence mandate.
